Manolo is a rather crass woman. She speaks her mind to anyone and everyone and is never afraid to straight out reject or throw out the things she hates. In some sense her frankness and be nice in the fact that she never sugar coats anything. But generally for most, it’s just insensitive and hurtful. Manolo is also rather cold and off putting, making it impossible for her to make friends (that that she really cares much for that). Manolo can also be easy to anger and irritate, causing her to go into shout matches, banging firsts on objects (or people), and even pulling out guns and pointing them without any regard to where she is. Surprisingly enough she’s just as easily subdued as she is to anger as she can easily be pleased and amused using the right things. Manolo also has quite a humor and finds most jokes extremely amusing to her. Some even merit her to laugh out loud like a cackling beast. Manolo can also be rather patient and sit still one one place of hours on end. It has been a helpful trait for her especially for her job. Manolo can also be persuasive with the use of her words and looks. Of course when she manages not to get irritated
Manolo was a child who grew up in the poor and harsh streets of the slums. Her mother did little to care for her, and her father was always too buy working in some fun down factory. For this, Manolo also had to stoop down to playing games in the streets and shaming or stealing from tourists. She’d even make quick ways around the city she lived in, sneaking into the backs of busses or trolleys, or by slithering into off limit buildings by fire escapes and rooftops. She had always been the troublemaker since young.
It honestly wasn't the best childhood and it didn't help after her discovering the fact that she was a mutant down the line. Though at an early age she noticed that she saw things differently from people as she would point things out that the other kids couldn't see. Then after the manifestation of her force field powers things became harder. Her mother didn't like dealing with her strange mutant child at that point and would easily become irritated by her. As for her father, well he became non-existent to the point he never returned home. Being at home was absolutely unbearable with the reality being a dysfunctional home, however she started resenting non-mutants at that point.
Growing up she struggled to stay in school, being constantly kicked out from public school in as early as age 12. She was never able to stay in a single school for long until she was introduced to Xavier's school. She felt good and right at home, but a bitterness grew more inside her as she built up ideas of how mutants and non-mutants can't live peacefully together. After all, she was admitted into a school of only mutants only to see how life is much better without non-mutants.
As she neared the end of her student life, she began to be tempted more and more by the brotherhood and their ideas. It wasn't till soon after she had graduated that she switched over to their side rather than becoming an x-men.
Force Fields: Manolo’s strangest power is her ability to create force fields out of thin air. These force fields are like small bullet proof shields can can manifest at any given time. However these force fields aren’t durable as they vanish seconds after and shatter after repealing impact which requires Manolo to constantly create more when in the line of fire. Also the more she uses her shields, the more stress and exhaustion she puts her mind, eventually making her lose her ability to concentrate and eventual ability itself.
Heightened Vision: Manolo has an amazing ability to see further that others can. Some would say they are much like the eyes of a raptor, quick to pinpoint its prey. Though her vision isn’t as perfect as that of a birds, she can still see 3 times further than an average person. Also the spectrum of colors which she can see are more than humans, allowing her to see ultraviolet and fluorescent light. This sometime is used as an advantage by using invisible markers that only she can see. However it can also disorientate her as her markers aren’t the only things that are fluorescent. Manolo will sometimes forget that people can't see like her though, and think of it strange when they don't understand what she means when she points out colors or other things.
Master Multitasker: Manolo mind is a powerful thing, with it she is able to multitask multiple thoughts and actions at once. She can craft well thought out plans, while holding up a forcefield and be doing an entirely other action without keeping trap of either three. It can get a bit trick for her at times though as her mind can multitask and move ahead of the limits of her own body which can frustrate her greatly, especially when she’s on the job. Her strong multitasking abilities also helps to prevent Manolo be distracted from all the colors she sees.
