The only suggestion I can give is that you add conflict! For every Light there is a Darkness! And the site would be much better if there were a Villain Faction with a Canon Postion for someone to run that said evil group, or perhaps give someone who wants to be an Antagonist are allowed to create their own Villian Character that are a threat to the X-Students and X-Men?

i've created the brotherhood of mutants (more info can be found here). so there is conflict between them, humans, and the x-men. should be good, i've left all the canon positions open for applicants.

but a character can always be anti x-men! there are few limitations to what you can do with your char~

I would super love an opening event or something. And probably a place to where to use all this cash, although I might be just stupid and not seeing where I can throw my money at you guys when I get some haha.

Just joined the site but I have been looking around and I came up with one suggestion: I think it would be convenient to have a list of claimed powers. As mutants are accepted you basically would just update the list with whatever power that person had. This way people can glance at the list to kind of see what has been done already and what has not. I know that some people would rather not use a mutation/power that is already in use and would rather be unique and original.

I know that can kind of be troublesome since some mutations are more complex than others and some deserve longer descriptions...but for the sake of such a list I think it would be easy just to keep things simple. Let's say someone makes a mutant that can control fire then on the list you simply put their name and put Pyrokinesis as their mutation. If someone can control electricity/lightning then you categorize them as Electrokinesis and so on and so forth. Or instead of getting technical it could be just a simple short statement such as "controls fire" or "controls lightning" or "can transform into this" - for example.

I agree @power list, could be really easy, and members could just put in their own with a minor description?

Otherwise do we have a census somewhere? I'm blind. :/

we're currently planning an opening event, so stay tuned for that! the same goes for a shop where you can spend your cash. as for the powers list, we'll talk it over and get back to you with the verdict. and i don't believe we have a census.

Just another thought with the power list and census hanging there for the staff to discuss. Both lists could easily be combined as in have a list made for a census with characters listed under groups and what not and then (if they are a mutant) have their powers alongside them. Like Teikoku suggested the members could type of the short description/summary of their powers for the list to make less work for the staff. It could be something you do after getting accepted, just like the face claim list.

Hi! I just joined the site yesterday, and I decided to take a bit of a look around. I was wondering, since there is technically a base of operations (the school for mutants) for the X-men, maybe there could be some type of board for the Brotherhood's HQ? Some sort of base of operations, and it'll give more of a option for people in the Brotherhood to RP in. As far as I'm aware, by canon in the cartoon/anime there was a place of operations for the Brotherhood as well; although it was more akin to some abandon warehouse.

I also wanted to suggest sub-boards to the accepted section; although it was mainly Mino's idea for this. Perhaps something to distinguish the humans and mutants from each-other, or students, X-men, Brotherhood and "citizens" from each-other? Either way, I feel it might help make browsing profiles easier than to look through a long list (and as far as I'm aware; proboards search engine sucks).

Oh also, outside of boards I was wondering... To add to the census addition talk earlier, maybe a list of "aliases" could be included. Since if you're legit looking for a superhero, or supervillain, or alternate name (like storm, rogue, etc.) it'd be easier to look find out what's taken and what isn't if there was a census for it. Personally, I'd find it awkward if I gave an alias to my character only to find out later that it's been used already/taken. Plus looking through every profile on the site can be tedious work. xD

thanks for your wonderful suggestions angels! while we need a little more time to discuss the practical implementation of this stuff on site i'm able to give a few details on ways in which we're going to be working on and incorporating your ideas:

POWER CLAIM – we are likely to add a power claim in the claim section of the site, a list of what powers are used by what characters. here members themselves will fill out and post a small form to add their character and their powers to a list. this form will not include a summary – there will instead be links to a character's application so that if a person can check out the power themselves if they think they are considering a power that's too similar if there are really worried about originality. staff will not be automatically updating it on acceptance – instead it will be up to members to post there so staff members can edit the thread.

CENSUS – a census is definitely a possibility in the future. however, it will not be combined with a power list. this will just be a table with totals of each member group and conceivably divided further into male, female and other/non-binary, in order to give people a good idea of site numbers.

we do already have a claim for brotherhood of mutant + a job list that can give further information on member groups. i edited it with a coding members can easily access so they can add themselves though!

APP CATEGORIES – i'm up for this, it helps mega w/ organisation but it depends on how staff convos go but SEEMS EXCESSIVELY REASONABLE. this would be split into the obvious x-students, x-men, brotherhood of mutants and unaffiliated.

BASE FOR THE BROTHERHOOD – ohohoho this'll be talked amongst us! to clarify, the base for the brotherhood of mutants massively varies across media and even within the media. in the x-men movies, which the site's canon is mostly based on, magneto uses an island called genosha as base and later an unspecified forest which is a bit harder to apply here; in the show x-men: evolution, the base varies greatly depending on the "field leaders" if you will as mystique has a dorm-like residence she keeps to house younger brotherhood mutants whereas magneto also has other bases of operation; the comics vary EVEN MORE so there's a lot of places to consider and work from! however, over the next couple of days we'll make it clear where the brotherhood of mutants are able to CHILL, HANG OUT AND PLOT OUT THEIR FABULOUS MUTANT SUPREMACIST PARTIES

ALIAS CLAIM – this could be super useful too actually! we'll defs consider adding something like that to the claim section as well

hope this covers a lot of what you guys have said! basically, a lot of the inquiries and suggestions have to do with claims which i will work on clarifying in the rules and the sections themselves.
