TWO YEARS AGO, A CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION GOING BY THE NAME TEAM IMUM WRECKED CHAOS ACROSS THE LAND, DAMAGING CITIES AND KILLING THOUSANDS OF CITIZENS. While Imum itself has long since been disbanded, however, the region remains broken: entire towns have been laid to waste and the Association struggles to find homes for those who were lucky enough to survive the attempted genocide. Reconstruction trudges on as usual... but with three factions - the Association, the corporations, and the people - each wishing to take the rebuilding of an entire region down opposite paths, how long will it be before Lyeant's last leg gives out permanently?

Some people would say that it was rather troubling that she found a police station to be her second home. However, being with Riley was almost like being with her own family. No matter how many times she shook her head or gave her a lecture, Jaden grinned nonetheless and laughed. She loved to hear Riley get riled up. She was always so fun to be around and distracted her from the daily things.
Now, going back to that lady - it was war. That ice cream sundae was the highlight of her day. After being harassed by teachers for schoolwork, dealing with annoying kids, and resisting the urge to uproot the ice cream stand - she just wanted to go to her room and relax. But then that lady just had to get in her way and knock over her ice cream. The second that the frozen treat touched the ground it was war.
Her fingers curled into fists and her lips quirked from time to time. Then she finally let out a bit of laughter before she ended up destroying the parking meter. She felt oddly satisfied when the woman was freaking out, even better when her car was towed. A soft sigh came and she raised her hands.
"Look, the lady had it coming to her. She messed with my sweets and you know how I get when my baby is in danger."
There were many things that you could do in this world. You could steal a car and get framed for it, you could beat up a tree and get a splinter, hell. You could even rob a store and get away with it. But if there was one thing in the world that you couldn't do no matter how bad or strong you were, it was mess with Jaden Abadeer's candy. Needless to say, the smug grin on her face was wiped off as she saw the girl take her candy and give it to the forlorn boy.
Oh no the hell she didn't.
Then the girl sat back down and gave her a smug smile before going back to doing whatever she was doing on that pad. Her eyes narrowed before her lips curled into a grin. This was going to be fun.
"My, my, my. Little red scarf is stealing candy? I thought that you were a hero of justice for a second. But here is a little tidbit."
She reached out to snatch the newspaper from her hands. Rolling it into a makeshift sword, she whacked the younger girl on the head before twirling it in her hand.
If there was one thing that she could reason with that didn't have a witty comeback or one liner attached would be fear. Constantly, she lived in fear of hurting others or seemingly being a monster. However, she covered the fear up with her snarky attitude and allowed herself to be a bit obnoxious so that no one could see the scared child underneath. Sometimes, she wondered why she tried so hard and eventually the self-loathing behavior emerged that slowly regressed into slight agonizing then evaporated as the days went on.
Looking towards Raiven, it must have been hard for him. Most mutants were merely people that gained superpowers but his entire form was changed. Humans were a race that continued to evolve but they hated change and adaption wasn't one of their strong suits. To them, Raiven was simply a freak that they should put down before something terrible happened. To her, he was an amazing person who just needed a little bit of guidance. She didn't like to play the "good guy" but she had to stick up for the guy.
"Nah, I'm not afraid. You're a really swell guy, Raiven."
She gave him an encouraging smile before taking out another pocky stick and popping it into her mouth. Chewing thoughtfully, she thought back to all the faces and the people who yelled and screamed at her or turned away from her because of the things that she did. She remembered the feeling of being lonely and the rage that followed along with the loathing. But all those feelings didn't match up to the loneliness which remained until she became older.
"Don't worry. If you ever need to get someone off your back, just tell me. I'll look after you. Besides, we're friends."
Glancing over, she hadn't noticed that the couch had another person sitting on it until now. Perhaps it was the jab that caught her attention or the fact that the red scarf was somewhat interesting to look at. Needless to say, she had to say that she was meeting a lot of people who didn't have a thing for actual verbal conversation. Maybe this girl was a mute or something. She shrugged her shoulders and then adjusted herself a bit.
"So am I supposed to write back or do you want me to speak? Whatever, I'll talk."
She liked scaring the newbies. It was as simple as that. Scaring them was almost like Christmas on Christmas Day. It was like experiencing the first present and then the rest of the holiday was just pulled together. Besides that, he startled her and all she was trying to do was eat her candy. Was it that hard to get a little peace and quiet to eat her candy? Even the other girl was rather quiet when she was simply trying to eat and have no disruptions.
Sadly, the disruptions had to come and she wasn't able to just relax.
"I did it because I wanted to, and if you have a problem with it, do something about it - little red."
She had to admit most of the reason why she got in trouble was so that she could annoy Riley. But all she wanted to do was see her? Was that so bad? Rolling her eyes, she put her arms behind her head and leaned back before tilting her head to the side. Riley would have been a lot cuter if she smiled a lot more often. What was she spilling about now? There were times when she talked that Jaden seemed to zone out and she knew if she didn't zone in sooner or later, she'd end up missing it.
"I kinda sorta destroyed a parking meter."
Okay, in her defense that old lady was literally hassling her for a quarter to put in the machine. When she refused, the lady threw a fit and smacked her ice cream sundae out of her hand. Now, you could mess with her as much as you want but when it came to the ice cream - that was war. So she destroyed the parking meter to show the lady that she meant business and got caught.
The chase that followed was a rather speedy one and she was racing everywhere having a joy. Jumping from things, swinging and rolling around and around. But she eventually stopped and let them have a breather only to start the chase again. It took quite a lot of men to catch her and when they did, she was already bored and reading a comic book in the park.
"Besides that, it wasn't all that bad. I'll pay for what I did, and we'll be fine. That old lady is going to be scarred though."
This guy must really have a thing for candy if he was going to such lengths. Or maybe its the fact that he wanted to show her that he wasn't some intimidating monster. If you asked her, she'd probably be okay with him either way. Being a mutant, she could understand what it felt like to be different. However, she always liked different. Abnormalities made people stronger, and it set the apart from the people without powers. That didn't make them weird, it only made them unique. It was just the fact that humans couldn't accept change and their inability to accept it was going to lead to their downfall.
"Yeah, I'm doing pretty good Raiven. No complaints, what about yourself?"
The guy must not have had many interactions with people. Or maybe he did and most of them went badly. She noticed by the way that he held his hands up in the customary 'I'm innocent' sign. She knew how that felt. Coming into issues with the law very often would give you a fair share with using that little gesture. It was a good way to get out of being tazed. Ugh, being tazed. Having all those volts of electricity shoot through your body like rockets.
It was the worst experience ever.
"Nah, I don't want anything from you Raiven. But you could tell me, whats it been like for you till now?"
She wasn't in the mood to be snarky, and the guy seemed a bit more vulnerable than most of her victims.
Well, there was that one time when I had given my shoes to the kid that lived next door. Long story short, I went barefoot all winter. He was kinda pitiful but at least he was warm, I unno. Don't read too much into it though princess.
Being a mutant along with basically being Jaden Abadeer, you get to see some pretty funky things. This wasn't anything out of the ordinary to be honest. She was just sitting here, minding her own business when a creature had came and was hand signing to her about the location of sweets. Now any other girl would probably be screaming at the top of her lungs, whacking him with her purse and then fleeing in the opposite direction. But for Jaden, this was the golden opportunity for inspiration and maybe having a little bit of fun.
She waited until he was done before a grin settled on her face. It must have been the strawberry flavored pocky that she kept on her that he smelled. She had to admit, it smelled pretty good. Often she smelled like some type of sweets due to the fact that it was primarily all that she had the habit of eating. Sweets were her life and if she wasn't eating some variation of a cookie or cake, something was wrong.
"Alright, so you want something to chew on huh?"
Patting herself down, she pulled out a box of pocky sticks before taking out at least three and handing them to him. There wasn't anything wrong with sharing candy especially if it was with a fellow pocky lover. She popped a few sticks in her mouth and began to chew on them with a smile. The flavored coating was nice along with the actual chewiness that ended in sweet sweet bliss.
My biggest achievement? A little personal, don'tcha think? Well, since we're not judging. My greatest achievement would have been not laughing during my cousin's wedding even though I knew he was marry a total bitch. What about you?
