MY MILKSHAKE
BRING ALL THE BOYS TO THE YARD

A series of dance moves along with a stupendous twist than fall landed Jaden Abadeer on one of the sofa's in the school's living room. She often came out here to scope out the other kids. Especially the new arrivals who seemed a little shaken up because of their new surroundings. Whatever it felt like to them, she was pretty sure that they'd get over it eventually. If they didn't, that is when sense would be knocked into them. Besides, you had to realize that these people are trying to help you and whether or not you like it - you're gonna have to take it.

But those were pessimistic thoughts and she was all for optimism at the moment. Besides, she had candy! All the candy, yeah, all the candy. Dude, she could have invented a dance for all this candy that was sitting on her lap. Picking out pieces, she laid them on the coffee table and began to sort lazily once or twice popping a piece in her mouth. Her guitar laid up against the couch while its owner advocately stuffed herself with sweets.

There was something sacred in the form of a piece of candy. It was to be cherished. Guarded. Loved. Then eaten. Or maybe that was because she ate sweets so often that they were kind of a thing for her. Whatever, they were still amazingly awesome and needed her love and affection! 

"Sh-Shouldn't you be in class?" 

She didn't have to even look up to know that was another student, a nervous one at that. Putting down a piece of candy, she shot up with a scary look on her face that sent him running. Heh, kids were fun to mess with. Welp, more candy for her.

Dakota had decided to use her free period to catch up on her crosswords. Newspaper and pen in hand and ipod playing classical music in her ears, she sat on one of the couches in the school living room and set to work. She was not there for very long before she was startled from her reverie by another student falling rather stupendously onto the couch next to her. Dakota stared in astonishment as the young woman set aside her guitar and began chowing down on sweets.

She took out her earbuds just in time to hear another student questioning the other girl. When she scared him off with what could only be described as a terrifying look, Dakota glared at the couch's other occupant. Taking out her notepad from the pocket of her jeans, she quickly flipped to a blank page and scribbled down a few sentences. Elbowing the other student slightly harder than was necessary to get her attention, she showed her what she had written:

Was that really necessary? All he did was ask a question. One that I'm curious to know the answer to as well.

Dakota continued to gaze coldly at the other student, wondering whether she should indeed have been in class.

OH HEY!
RED WRITING SCARF!

She felt eyes on her. 

Glancing over, she hadn't noticed that the couch had another person sitting on it until now. Perhaps it was the jab that caught her attention or the fact that the red scarf was somewhat interesting to look at. Needless to say, she had to say that she was meeting a lot of people who didn't have a thing for actual verbal conversation. Maybe this girl was a mute or something. She shrugged her shoulders and then adjusted herself a bit.

"So am I supposed to write back or do you want me to speak? Whatever, I'll talk."

She liked scaring the newbies. It was as simple as that. Scaring them was almost like Christmas on Christmas Day. It was like experiencing the first present and then the rest of the holiday was just pulled together. Besides that, he startled her and all she was trying to do was eat her candy. Was it that hard to get a little peace and quiet to eat her candy? Even the other girl was rather quiet when she was simply trying to eat and have no disruptions. 

Sadly, the disruptions had to come and she wasn't able to just relax. 

"I did it because I wanted to, and if you have a problem with it, do something about it - little red."

Dakota stared at the other girl, perplexed and slightly offended at the idea that she wanted the other student to write back instead of speaking. Honestly! Not being able to talk didn't mean she couldn't hear, either! Come to think of it, whoever this was was eyeing her scarf in a way that suggested she was interested in it, and the last thing Dakota needed right now was to explain that away again. Maybe she should just--

She stiffened at the other girl's snarky response. Little red? Little red?! This student barely looked any taller than she was! There was no way she was letting her get away with that! Pulling her notepad close to her face, Dakota scratched away at it furiously, practically shoving it towards the older student when she had finished writing.

Alright miss rainbow hair, not only do I have a problem with it, I'm going to do something about it, too.

Though her handwriting was clear, the words made deep indents in the paper, hinting at just how frustrated she really was. Abruptly, when she had given the other student enough time to read her message, she snatched as much of the candy as she could in one swipe and stood, storming towards the boy who had been scared off. Tapping him on the shoulder, he turned around in surprise, only to have Dakota shove the sweets into his hands.

Stalking back to the couch without so much as glancing at the older student, Dakota sat down, grabbed the newspaper, and held the crossword section close to her face as though examining it. Truthfully, though, she was using it to hide her victorious smile.

I'M ALL GAME

There were many things that you could do in this world. You could steal a car and get framed for it, you could beat up a tree and get a splinter, hell. You could even rob a store and get away with it. But if there was one thing in the world that you couldn't do no matter how bad or strong you were, it was mess with Jaden Abadeer's candy. Needless to say, the smug grin on her face was wiped off as she saw the girl take her candy and give it to the forlorn boy. 

Oh no the hell she didn't.

Then the girl sat back down and gave her a smug smile before going back to doing whatever she was doing on that pad. Her eyes narrowed before her lips curled into a grin. This was going to be fun.

"My, my, my. Little red scarf is stealing candy? I thought that you were a hero of justice for a second. But here is a little tidbit."

She reached out to snatch the newspaper from her hands. Rolling it into a makeshift sword, she whacked the younger girl on the head before twirling it in her hand.

"I don't play fair, sweetheart. I play to win."
