TRY TWICE AS HARD AND I'M HALF AS LIKED. ✿ His movements brought her out of the lull of sleep. The sweet memories of their love that echoed throughout her mind stopped and vanished as reality set in. Opening her eyes, she looked up to find that his head was facing the other way. She couldn't see his sleeping expression though the tenseness of his body meant that he was most likely awake. Her eyes softened and she slowly adjusted herself on the bed placing a hand flat against his chest.
Leaning closer, she aimed to press a kiss behind his ear like she did whenever he was distressed. The kiss would have been followed by a little kiss to the cheek. Her fingers curled into his shirt and she willed the tears that were threatening to form to push back.
" I'm a medic, I can't leave anyone to their doom. No matter our relations." There was no way that she could let him go. However, she knew that the two of them would have to part. She remembered whenever he was gone for an extended period of time. Although she continued with her daily routine, when he came back it was almost like he was gone for ages. They had been dating for five years and no matter what, it always felt like she was falling in love with him again. Even now, she was falling in love with him all over again. " You shouldn't move. Do you want anything to drink or eat? It may help. Losing so much blood could make you a bit dehydrated." |

TRY TWICE AS HARD AND I'M HALF AS LIKED. ✿ Pulling her bag onto her shoulder and preparing to leave, she softly hummed as she turned the corner. That is when her heart dropped into the pits of her stomach. Staring downwards, she could see a man leaning against the wall with a puddle of blood underneath him. The memories of years passed flashed before her eyes and slowly her hand slipped from the bag as it fell to the floor. Her hands trembled and she reached out only to hesitate then reach again. For a few moments, she repeated this process before noticing that his wound was only growing worse as the time ticked on. Taking off her coat, she leaned down and grasped one of his arms before pulling him into an upright position. One arm wrapped around him, the other supporting him as she brought him back to her office where a bed sat for the patients when they decided to stop by for a check-up. Laying him on the bed, she hurried to remove his jacket and shirt. The wound wasn't as bad as she had thought but it seemed to have been made from a bullet. Her heart ached, was he still chasing after that dream? She hurried to gather the necessary supplies and set to work to remove the bullet along with tending to the wound. Thankfully he was unconscious or else this would have been difficult. Though once she was gone, she merely stared at him. Vasils Kuznetsov, the man of her dreams and the only person that she ever dared to love was sitting there in front of her wounded. He could have died if she had left a moment earlier or later, no one would have been able to help him. Even if they had broken up, her heart hadn't given up on him at all. With a shaky hand, she grasped his own and held it to her lips before giving his knuckles soft kisses. His hands still had callouses, but it was warm and inviting almost like their hands belonged together. Normally, she would have been against fratenizing with her patients. However nothing could have stopped her from climbing into the bed next to him and resting her head on the opposite side from where his bandages were while dreaming of better days. |

Being in a hospital and working with people seemed to be a rather tiring job to some. The long hours, the endless amounts of work that never seemed to lighten up. The patients, having to attend to their every need. It all seemed rather taxing and unrewarding. However, Aveline didn't have much of an issue with it. If anything, she loved helping people. It gave her a sense of purpose and even joy. However, she had lost something irreplaceable due to her dedication to her job. Tending to a little boy, she was putting him down for a nap. He had just been born, a precious bundle of joy named Oswald, such a cute name for a cute boy. As he was laid down and then enclosed with the other newborns, she sighed and placed a hand against the window as she left the room.
Perhaps if she had just gave in, the two of them could have been standing there. Holding one another while smiling at their little newborn child and laughing. It was almost torturous how well she remembered his laugh. His amused smile whenever she blundered and the way they would argue but their eyes wouldn't be filled with anger or malice, just joy and happiness. A dull ache formed in her chest and she wrapped her arms around herself squeezing lightly.
"Miss Alkaev, are you alright?"
She snapped out of her daze to give the girl a little smile. She must have been one of the interns. She was slightly surprised that this one hadn't gone home yet. Others were shellshocked from the amount of blood and queasiness that came from the job.
"Fine, I'm absolutely fine. Thank you for asking."
The girl nodded and adjusted her sack before going to leave.
Aveline waved her off before sighing and then glancing out of the nearby window.

aveline geneviene alkaev don't you get it twisted or you just might miss this
ALIAS ave, ginny | GENDER female | AGE twenty-four | GROUP unaffiliated | ORIENTATION heterosexual | YEAR n/a | ALIGNMENT neutral | JOB medic |
LIKES - children - humans - mutants - night - lullabies | DISLIKES - rallies - unneeded fighting - being alone - bullying - unruly children |
aveline is one of the most nicest yet strangest people that you could ever meet. if you cross her the wrong way, there is a strong possibility that you could be yelled at, mildly cursed, or ignored for the rest of your life. because of her childhood, she was seen as the little girl that would do anything her parents asked of her without question. however, aveline has that little curious voice in her that constantly asks why. for that reason, she is rather persistent when she wants to know things along with being a tad bit nosy. thankfully, she knows her boundaries and when she oversteps - she'll quickly back off to make sure that no one is offended. once or twice, she has gotten into a few verbal fights and when she has reached a certain point, her words can come off very harshly, very mean and to the point where they may scar.
she is a nice person when it comes to others. being a medic takes a lot of patience which she has and a lot of skill with people. she is good at empathizing with others and giving them her full attention. she is also adept at showing care even to those that irritate her the most, albeit it will be a bit less than what she gives others. she is a determined woman who works hard at all of the things that she does. but there are times where she overworks herself and ends up collapsing, not knowing when to let up. when someone asks her for her own opinion or when an event arises that calls for her to tell the truth, she often lays down the cold hard truth and says nothing more only to feel awful about it later.
she has a very kind heart but it is often confronted with separate feelings. when she is around her ex-boyfriend/soul mate vasilis, she can be a rather childish woman who loves to play games. her anger dwindles and she isn't as bossy or mean. most of the reason why she is the way that she is would be because she has a mother's heart. as a mother, or as a person who wants to be an aspiring mother - she can be rather persistent, aggressive, over-working, straightforward (to the point where its embarassing).
on the other hand, she is patient and a nurturing person who tends to others needs. she is empathetic, sweet and kind to those who need her and has a strong sense of justice.
she had a rather controversial childhood. her parents were against mutants harshly as well as most of the people in her neighborhood. however, when it came to aveline herself they were rather warm and accepting. they loved their little girl although they found her hair color and eye color a little strange, they loved her without a doubt. most of all, they were glad that she wasn't like those "mutant-scum". at a young age, aveline found out about the mutants and all of the deeds they had done. that is when she asked her parents the question that should have never been uttered.
"but aren't mutants the same as humans?"
her parents put her on punishment for three months for saying such a thing and once it was lifted, they reprimanded her and presented all of these 'facts' to sway her opinion. she couldn't agree with anything they said and refused to live in a household or speak to people that were so close minded. at this time, she was only eighteen years old. Upon storming out and going to find a place of her own, she met vasilis kuznetsov. Her first love. Her parents had accepted her back home, but at that point, she was already curious and had been gone too long to know almost anything else.
She had lived with her aunt and uncle at that time, and they were accepting of her while she was going to school to study and be a medic. Days, weeks, and months passed as she grew closer to vasilis and soon the two of them were dating. She couldn't have been happier. Five years passed, she had gained her standing as a medic and reconciled with her parents although she couldn't stomach their ways because of her boyfriend. It didn't matter to her whether he was a mutant or a human, she was still his until the very end. Sadly, that end came sooner than she thought.
She knew something was wrong. Something was changing and although he'd never admit it and all of their days seemed to be the same as she liked it to be, she knew the water smelled foul. It wasn't until the death of the mutant that she saw the change in Vasilis, she comforted him and held onto him but somehow she felt as though she was losing him.
Eventually, she questioned him on everything and once he told her - everything ended. Peace for mutants. That is something she could agree on. But only the mutants? That meant her family, her friends, everyone that she every worked with would be dead and gone. As much as she loved him, there was no place for her in his dream. Leaving with a reluctant heart, everything shattered.
Currently she is a medic working with mutants and humans alike trying her best to inspire the generation of tomorrow that humans and mutants can live in harmony, and in her free time she thinks back to the love that she had only wishing they could be the same.
